In this series I used my 35mm film camera to capture the city during my favorite time of the day... night-time. The gas station photo was taken from the inside of a car on my way home from work, when I first started to enjoy my quiet late night commutes. I am drawn to the aesthetic of certain parts of the city, like Chinatown on a weekday night. As I walked through Chinatown, I tried to capture the various moments I saw in an almost voyeuristic quality. The restaurants were busy with customers, yet I felt a certain quietness as I passed by each restaurant in the small streets. I found an arcade that took me into a different world - where the neon lights and loud noises of the games contrasted with the emptiness from the lack of people in this arcade, and inspired me to create a series of night photos.
